Lynne has 25 + years marketing & management experience, holding a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Digital Marketing, is a Certified Practicing Marketer and an Associate of the Australian Marketing Institute. Lynne has won several marketing awards over the years for Marketing Excellence.

As the Group Marketing Manager of the largest signage manufacturer in Australia and Agency Manager of Hive Marketing, Lynne is uniquely qualified to assist Throsby Basin Business Chamber and its members on marketing, promotion and PR issues.

Lynne’s background has involved the development and execution of marketing & advertising campaigns for major brands such as Coca-Cola Australia, Johnson & Johnson, Village Roadshow, Levi Strauss, Hoover, Philips Electronics, Clarks & Hushpuppies, NIB, Nokia, GPT + more however is happiest working alongside local businesses implementing high impact marketing solutions to secure a bright future for small – medium sized organisations. Lynne remains passionate about Newcastle and its bright future and continues to be an advocate for change and progression in this area.

Matthew Clarkson

Matthew Clarkson is the Director and Principal Lawyer of Clarkson Legal, a property and commercial law firm based in Watt Street, Newcastle.

Matthew has over 21 years’ experience as a practising lawyer in New South Wales and Federal Courts. He is currently the Senior Vice-President of the Newcastle Law Society and has previously served on the committee of the Newcastle Business Club and as its President in 2006. He has also previously held the position of a director of the Merewether Golf Club.

Joining the Board of the Throsby Basin Business Chamber in 2018, Matthew is looking forward to continuing to work with President Lynne Hopson and the 2019 Board in developing a strong chamber that will champion the cause of businesses in the Throsby Basin area with all levels of government and will foster relationships between those businesses through regular networking and educational events.

 

Emma Knight

Emma is the sole Director of Mint Business Centre and has over 20 years’ experience in Business Administration and Office Management, in a variety of industries including Retail, Human Resources and Mining. Mint Business Centre provides Serviced Offices, Telephone Answering and Virtual Office Services to local and international companies and is located in Portside Crescent Maryville.

Coming from a family of successful business owners Emma’s goal has always been to own her own business. This opportunity presented itself when Emma became the Director of Mint Business Centre in 2017. As the director of Mint Business Centre, Emma is able to utilise her expertise and experience in Office Management and Business Administration and has successfully grown the business into one of Newcastle largest and most successful Business Centres in the region. The best part of this for Emma is that it is in Newcastle near family and friends. 

Emma moved to Newcastle in 1989 with her family and has seen Newcastle grow from what was a large town to the city that is still growing and changing today. She is passionate about Newcastle and as a business owner is even more eager to see the area and businesses grow with these changes. 

Emma has been a member of Throsby Basin Business Chamber since the Chamber commenced and is excited to be a Director and assist the Chamber in supporting local businesses. 

Paul O’Rourke

Currently, CEO of the National Yacht Club of the Year 2019, Paul has been at the helm of Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club for 2.5 years.  He holds formal qualifications in Accounting, Hospitality and Marina Management and has previously worked for major international and national hospitality groups plus operated his own business for 11 years.

Paul has worked all over the world including USA, Europe and the Caribbean and firmly believes the Club itself and Throsby area has massive potential. Paul is looking forward to working with the TBBC board and members to unlock this potential into 2020 and beyond.

 

 

Michael De Lyall

Michael De Lyall is the Senior Finance and Business Services Manager at Atwea College (formerly WEA Hunter). Atwea College has been servicing the training needs of Newcastle and its surrounds proudly for over 100 years. It now operates as a Registered Training Organisation RTO and delivers Nationally accredited training and education with a key focus on providing this service for disadvantaged sections of our community. Atwea makes a substantial contribution not just to the local economy but more importantly to the wellbeing of individuals within the community.

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in management and is a Fellow of CPA Australia. He is currently a Senior Finance & Business Services Manager. He has also previously held the position of a director with Career Links, a director with the Australian Technical College- Hunter and an active member of the Hunter Region Apprenticeship and Traineeship Advisory Committee for over 10 years.  Michael has also managed an industry-based Group Training Company GTO and been in the position of the Chief Financial Officer for the Newcastle Master Builders Association.

Michael has previously worked at Royal Newcastle Hospital, NSW Department of Main Roads, Comsteel, Kooragang / Blue Circle Cement and the Foreign Investment Review Board based within the ATO.

Joining the Board of the Throsby Basin Business Chamber in 2019, Michael, like Matthew Clarkson is looking forward to work with President and the 2019 Board in developing a strong chamber that will champion the cause of businesses in the Throsby Basin area with all levels of government, fostering relationships between those businesses through regular networking and educational events. He is keen to utilise his knowledge, skills, and networking to benefit our Chamber.

Dennis Neader

Dennis Neader (BSc Env. Geoscience) works as a Senior Ecologist with Carrington based Anderson Environment & Planning (AEP).  After many years working in various Newcastle businesses, Dennis studied Environmental Science at The University of Newcastle. Since graduating in 2011 Dennis has worked with local companies in the environmental and bush regeneration sectors before joining AEP in 2016.

Arron Besley

Aaron is currently a Partner of Achieve Financial Group in Carrington. Aaron started his accounting career in 2009 after studying at University of Western Sydney in Campbelltown. Before Aaron put his study into practice, he worked extensively in hospitality with a career at Intercontinental Hotels Group in all areas of hotel management. During his first role in Public Practice he was admitted as a Chartered Accountant and has a passion for assisting clients in understanding tax obligations as well as helping businesses grow.

As a result of starting his career in hospitality customer service is an integral ingredient in Aaron’s approach to communicating with clients and he will spend the time to build long lasting relationships that will continue many years into the future.

Aaron also has a passion for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and specialises in assisting small to medium-sized businesses.

Holding a business in the Throsby area, Aaron is passionate about its transformation and assisting business connect on all levels.
